In a field where only 15% to 20% of all financial advisors are women, Tanya offers a much needed voice for media outlets, consumers, and fellow advisors alike. Starting her own investment practice for retiring women before she was 40 years old, her youth is also a major strength that allows her to bring a fresh new energy to what has otherwise been considered a very cold and stuffy industry traditionally dominated by older white men. Her unabashed authenticity and vulnerability offers an engaging and unique perspective in the industry.
Tanya Nichols proudly holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation – recognized as a standard of excellence for competent and ethical personal financial planning, and achieved by only 21% of financial advisors. She was selected to serve as the 2019 Chair of the CFP Board’s Council on Examinations in Washington D.C. where her and the Council of six other professionals from across the country are tasked with ensuring a robust examination process for new CFP® certificants. She has been volunteering to serve the CFP Board since 2010.
